Electrical Maintenance Engineer

Job description

We're recruiting on behalf of a business in the Sheffield area that is looking to increase their engineering team with a mechanical fitter. This business has grown year on year and has invested heavily in their manufacturing facility and has ambitious plans to replicate this.

This role is working a 40-hour week on days with a salary of £35,000 to begin, then rising to £41,000 after probation.

Responsibilities

1. Reactive and proactive maintenance activities
2. Working on a variety of heavy machinery
3. Understand electrical systems and diagnose problems/plant faults constructively and accurately.
4. Take part in the development, creation, and implementation of PPM schedules
5. Record daily activities and create work orders within the site CMMS
6. Attend and contribute towards daily and weekly planned maintenance meetings
7. Identify/specify and order critical parts

Qualifications

1. A relevant vocational qualification e.g. NVQ, ONC, HNC, HND, C&G or an appropriate apprenticeship.
2. Experience within a medium to heavy manufacturing environment, although applicants from other industries would also be considered.
3. Some mechanical experience/qualification or the willingness to undertake mechanical cross-skilling training.
4. Good fault-finding and problem-solving skills essential - electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic systems.
5. Ability to read and understand electrical and mechanical engineering drawings.
6. PC literate.
7. Ability to work within a team and share knowledge.
