Job summary

Pioneer Selection Ltd is recruiting an Electrical Maintenance Engineer for a food manufacturing site in Greater Manchester. You will be apprentice trained, electrically biased, and experienced with production machinery maintenance.

You will perform planned and reactive maintenance, diagnose faults, and help improvements to equipment reliability, supporting safe operations and hygiene standards, with a 4 on 4 off days and nights shift.

Job Role of the Electrical Maintenance Engineer

We are recruiting for an Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join a food manufacturing business in the Greater Manchester area. The Electrical Maintenance Engineer must be apprentice trained and electrically biased, with experience maintaining production machinery.

The Electrical Maintenance Engineer will carry out planned and reactive maintenance, diagnose electrical faults and support improvements to equipment reliability. Working alongside the engineering and production teams, the Electrical Maintenance Engineer will help minimise downtime while maintaining site safety and hygiene standards.

Non-Negotiable Requirements

• Must have completed a recognised engineering apprenticeship.
• Must be electrically biased.
• Experience carrying out electrical maintenance and fault finding on manufacturing machinery.

Requirements

• Relevant electrical engineering qualification.
• Experience with planned and reactive maintenance.
• Ability to read electrical drawings and diagnose faults.
• Practical mechanical maintenance skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of an engineering team.
• Strong awareness of health and safety requirements.

Desirable Requirements

• Previous experience within food or FMCG manufacturing.
• Experience fault finding on PLC-controlled equipment.
• Experience maintaining conveyors, motors, sensors and variable speed drives.
• Experience using a computerised maintenance management system.
