Yolk Recruitment is exclusively working with a leading manufacturer based in Ebbw Vale, seeking a motivated Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join their team of flexible electrical and mechanical technicians. As an Electrical Maintenance Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
  • Maintaining and repairing electrical systems and equipment.
  • Working on a rotational shift pattern with opportunities to undertake continuous improvement and project work annually.
  • Participating as a member of the multi-skilled engineering team, collaborating with other departments to improve performance and achieve objectives.
  • Setting priorities based on shift production guidance.
  • Performing breakdown maintenance and Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM).
  • Being involved in project development and installation work.
  • Ensuring the safe operation of all plant and equipment in compliance with health and safety requirements.
  • Reacting effectively to minimise machine downtime and increase machine availability and performance.
  • Understanding manufacturing processes to integrate engineering with production personnel.
The experience you'll bring to the team:
  • High level of self-motivation and good time management skills.
  • Ability to organise and prioritise workload around production requirements.
  • Flexibility with shifts, including overtime.
  • Strong work ethic and good communication skills.
  • Time-served apprenticeship.
  • Minimum ONC or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience in maintaining production equipment and in a similar role.
Desirable experience (training provided):
  • PLC Systems (preferably Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi)
  • Instrumentation Systems (thermocouples, level control, loop control)
  • Inverter drive control
  • Gas Burner Control Systems
  • 3-phase Overhead Crane Systems
  • General fault finding and diagnostics skills
