Yolk Recruitment is supporting an established manufacturing business near Chard with the recruitment of an Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join their engineering team. If you're electrically qualified to Level 3 and have fault-finding experience, we'd like to speak with you.

This role offers a Monday to Friday double day shift pattern, no night shifts, with enhanced overtime opportunities and 33 days holiday. Salary up to £44,000 plus benefits, plus pension and life assurance.

Are you an Electrical Maintenance Engineer, Industrial Electrician, Service Engineer or ex-Forces Engineer looking for a new opportunity?

Yolk Recruitment is supporting an established manufacturing business near Chard with the recruitment of an Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join their experienced engineering team.

You don't necessarily need previous manufacturing maintenance experience to be considered.

If you're electrically qualified to Level 3, confident fault finding on electrical systems and have experience working with motors, control panels, three-phase equipment or industrial machinery, we'd be interested in speaking with you.

This is what you'll be doing

Working as part of an established engineering team, you'll be responsible for maintaining, repairing and improving a variety of production machinery and electrical equipment.

• Electrical fault finding and repairs across industrial machinery, production equipment and associated electrical systems.
• Diagnosing faults involving three-phase motors, inverters, drives, relays, contactors, sensors and electrical control panels.
• Reading and interpreting electrical schematics and using testing equipment to identify and resolve faults.Carrying out planned preventative maintenance and responding to reactive breakdowns.
• Supporting mechanical maintenance, including the replacement of bearings, gearboxes, belts, chains and other mechanical components.
• Assisting with machinery installations, equipment upgrades and continuous improvement projects.
• Working closely with engineering and production colleagues to minimise downtime and improve equipment reliability.

The experience you'll bring to the team

We're looking for someone with a strong electrical background, practical fault-finding experience and a willingness to develop their skills within a manufacturing environment.

Essential requirements:

• A minimum Level 3 electrical qualification, such as an NVQ, City & Guilds, recognised electrical apprenticeship or equivalent.
• Practical experience fault finding and repairing electrical equipment, machinery or industrial systems.
• Good knowledge of three-phase electrical systems, motors, control panels and electrical components.
• Confidence reading electrical drawings and using electrical testing equipment.
• A practical, hands‑on approach to engineering and a willingness to get involved with mechanical maintenance.

We’d particularly welcome applications from:

• Electrically biased Maintenance Engineers.
• Industrial Electricians and Electrical Technicians.
• Electrical Field Service Engineers.
• Ex-Forces Engineers from the REME, Royal Navy or RAF.
• Electrical Installation and Commissioning Engineers with industrial experience.
• Engineers from manufacturing, utilities, facilities maintenance and other industrial environments.

Experience with PLC fault finding, variable speed drives, hydraulics or pneumatics would be beneficial, but isn't essential.

We're more interested in your electrical fault-finding ability and technical knowledge than the industry you've previously worked in.

Working hours

You’ll work a rotating early and late shift pattern.

Early Shift

• Monday to Thursday: 6:00am to 2:00pm
• Friday: 6:00am to 12:00pm

Late Shift

• Monday to Thursday: 2:00pm to 10:00pm
• Friday: 12:00pm to 6:00pm

No night shifts, no weekends as part of your normal rota and an early finish every Friday.
