We are currently looking for an experienced Electrical Facilities Maintenance Engineer to join our team in Cardiff.
This role operates on a 4 on, 4 off shift pattern, alternating between days and nights — for example, 4 day shifts, 4 days off, followed by 4 night shifts.
This is a great opportunity for a qualified electrician with strong facilities maintenance experience, excellent customer service skills and the ability to work independently across a busy site.
The RoleAs an Electrical Facilities Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for:
- Carrying out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and completing all relevant paperwork and reports.
- Carrying out reactive and emergency maintenance tasks.
- Using handheld technology to complete jobs within allocated timescales.
- Maintenance, testing and fault finding across a variety of equipment.
- Working with equipment including ventilation, pumps, generators, switchgear, cables, batteries, small power and lighting, where applicable.
- Ensuring all tasks are completed within contractual timescales.
- Supervising visiting subcontractors, including Health & Safety, permits, small works and escort duties.
- Maintaining excellent relationships with onsite clients.
- Completing all work-related documentation accurately and on time.
- Supporting other team members and assisting across the wider property portfolio when required.
- Working safely and following all company Health & Safety policies and procedures.
- Attending training and appraisal activities as required.
About YouThe successful candidate will have:
- 18th Edition - essential.
- NVQ Level 3 Electrical qualification / completed electrical apprenticeship - essential.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar role.
- Minimum 3 years' Facilities Maintenance experience.
- Experience in maintenance, testing and fault finding.
- Strong knowledge of Health & Safety and safe working practices.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- A proactive approach with strong problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent rapport-building skills with clients, colleagues and third parties.
- Ability to complete paperwork accurately and within required timescales.
- A flexible attitude to assisting at other properties within the portfolio.
- Cleanroom experience is desirable, but not essential.
