Job summary

Breedon Group is seeking a Maintenance Electrician for the Borras Quarry site in Wrexham, North Wales. The role is permanent, full-time, with a Monday–Friday pattern and paid overtime on Saturdays. You’ll diagnose faults, perform preventative maintenance, and work with a team across Welsh Slate sites.

Ideally you have electrical engineering qualifications, experience in heavy industry, and HV switching knowledge. A valid UK driving licence and safety compliance are essential.

Qualifications

• Qualification or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering.
• Experience in a heavy industrial environment.
• Strong knowledge of LV isolation and electrical maintenance techniques.
• Experience with medium/high voltage networks and switching.
• Solid understanding of Health, Safety & Environmental regulations.
• Computer literacy.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Diagnosing electrical faults and root cause analysis.
• Delivering preventative maintenance to keep sites safe and reliable.
• Carrying out planned maintenance and handling unplanned shutdowns.
• Supporting plant improvements and upgrades.
• Collaborating with colleagues and contractors as part of a team.
• Travelling to other Welsh Slates sites (company van provided).

Are you an experienced industrial electrician who loves problem-solving, getting hands-on with plant, and keeping sites running safely and smoothly? If so, we’d love to hear from you!

We are currently seeking a Maintenance Electrician to join our team at Borras Quarry in North Wales. Every day brings variety, challenge, and the satisfaction of keeping vital operations powered up and performing at their best.

Key Responsibilities

What You’ll Be Doing

• Diagnosing electrical faults and getting to the root cause of breakdowns
• Developing and delivering preventative maintenance to keep our sites safe and reliable
• Carrying out planned maintenance and responding quickly to unplanned shutdowns, ensuring the site work is within the statutory legislation and company policies and procedures
• Playing a key, hands-on role in plant improvements and upgrades
• Working closely with colleagues and contractors as part of a supportive team
• Traveling to other Welsh Slates sites (company van provided)

Your Working Pattern

• Monday to Friday
• Occasional paid overtime on Saturdays

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

• Qualification or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering
• Experience in a heavy industrial environment
• Strong knowledge of LV isolation and electrical maintenance techniques
• Experience with medium/high voltage networks and switching
• A solid understanding of Health, Safety & Environmental regulations
• Computer literacy
• Full UK driving licence

Desirable, but not essential (training available):

• BS7671 inspection & testing knowledge
• PLC and VSD experience
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671)
