Job summary

Breedon Group plc is seeking a skilled Maintenance Operative to join the Holme Hall Quarry team in Rotherham. You will diagnose mechanical faults, repair breakdowns, and drive preventative maintenance to keep plant operations reliable and safe.

In this role, you will collaborate with the maintenance team, plan improvements, and support contractors to ensure top performance of fixed and mobile plant. A valid UK driving licence and relevant NVQ/BTEC qualifications are required, with NEBOSH

Qualifications

• Experience in an industrial maintenance role.
• Fixed Plant and Mobile Plant Repairs.
• Proficient in hydraulics, welding, fabrication, and mechanics.
• NVQ in Mechanical Maintenance, BTEC equivalent, or higher.
• Full UK driving licence.
• NVQ Level 3 or 4 in Health and Safety and/or NEBOSH qualification (advantageous).

Responsibilities

• Diagnose mechanical defects and perform breakdown repairs.
• Contribute to identifying and implementing preventative maintenance strategies.
• Work closely with the Maintenance Team Leader to enhance plant reliability and safety.
• Engage in the planning and execution of plant improvements and maintenance activities.
• Collaborate with team members and contractors to ensure effective maintenance support.

Position Overview:
