Job description

IDEAL CANDIDATE

At least 3 years’ experience within a manufacturing environment (or modern industrial considered), electrically qualified to a 17th or 18th edition regulations. You will have the ability to demonstrate hands-on knowledge of electrical, electronics and PLC control systems. Ideally from an electrically biased background. The shift pattern is day, back and night. The successful candidate will be tasked with supporting the engineering team in reaching a higher level of standard.

ABOUT YOU - QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

1. Qualified to industry 17th or 18th Edition
2. Qualified to City & Guilds level or Time served electrician
3. Good at problem-solving and fault-finding
4. A strong understanding and interpretation of electrical drawings and the ability to produce them.
5. Hands-on knowledge of electronics, electrical and PLC control systems.
6. Experienced with variable drive systems and 3-phase supplied systems.
7. Carried out job risk assessments, Portable Appliance Testing, having a good understanding of health and safety
8. An understanding of Health and Safety legislation
9. Knowledge of rules, regulations, best practices, and performance standards
10. Ability to work on own initiative
11. Experience of electrical maintenance gained in the manufacturing sector

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Working to reduce plant downtime
2. Troubleshoot and resolve plant and equipment faults
3. Accurately and constructively carry out corrective maintenance actions
4. Practice continuous improvement, innovation, and pro-activeness for improved working - offering possible solutions to issues
5. Install, repair, renew, test, and maintain electrical installations as required, meeting all site requirements
6. Carry out planned routine maintenance, fault diagnosis, corrective maintenance on site machinery
7. Complete all necessary documentation and ensure it is kept up to date
8. Isolation and de-isolation in accordance with a permit to work code of practice

This position will be on a shift pattern of day, back, and night shifts.
