Job summary

Quest Global is recruiting an Electrical Lead to collaborate with a major dockyard client, delivering safe, compliant electrical infrastructure solutions.

You will lead a team of electrical engineers, interface with the customer and Technical Authority, and oversee design from concept through implementation.

The role requires a UK national with security clearance eligibility and a proven track record in regulated maritime/defence environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related discipline required.
• Chartered Engineer (CEng) status preferred for seniority.
• Experience in highly regulated industries (nuclear, maritime, infrastructure, oil and gas) recommended.
• Proven track record in scoping, designing and modifying electrical systems (LV/HV, lighting, power distribution).
• Strong knowledge of safety regulations and electrical standards (IEEE, IEC).
• Experience in leading a team and developing capability; dockyard/marine/Defence exposure is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Engage with customer and Technical Authority to understand requirements and provide electrical engineering support.
• Lead the Electrical Discipline and deliver high quality engineering outputs.
• Scope, design and modify electrical assets or facilities and manage lifecycle development.
• Review technical docs for safety and regulatory compliance before submission.
• Coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams to align designs with broader projects.
• Support planning, installation, commissioning and testing phases.
• Contribute to project documentation, risk assessments and progress reporting.
