Job summary

Bakelite Synthetics is seeking a Maintenance Technician (Electrical & Instrumentation Bias) to support the safe, reliable operation of site plant in a high-hazard chemical environment. You will perform planned preventive maintenance on electrical, instrumentation, and control systems, diagnose faults, and work with operations to minimize downtime.

Strong knowledge of electrical safety, permit-to-work, PUWER and ATEX is essential.

Qualifications

• Time-served electrical/Instrumentation background in heavy industry.
• Experience with electrical safety and permit-to-work processes.
• Knowledge of hazardous area equipment and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventive maintenance on electrical, instrumentation, and control systems.
• Diagnose faults on motors, drives, panels, transmitters, and sensors.
• Support mechanical maintenance and calibration activities as needed.
• Ensure work complies with permit-to-work, lockout-tagout, and safety requirements.
• Document maintenance activities in the CMMS and support audits.
• Mentor apprentices and collaborate with operations and engineering teams.
