Job summary

DCS Engineering in Glasgow is seeking a hands-on Electrical & Instrument Technician to join our maintenance team. The role focuses on preventative and reactive maintenance of electrical plant and equipment, with 75% electrical and 25% instrumentation, including inspections, fault finding and repairs.

Ideal candidates are time-served electricians or maintenance engineers with an apprenticeship and 18th Edition, ideally from heavy industrial or process environments.

Qualifications

• Time-served electric apprenticeship or equivalent.
• Experience in heavy industrial/process environments.
• Strong fault-finding and maintenance skills.
• Experience with instrumentation testing and diagnosis.
• Ability to maintain accurate technical records.
• Experience with Permit to Work systems and contractors.
• 18th Edition qualification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on electrical plant and equipment.
• Inspect, test and fault-find electrical systems and components.
• Carry out electrical installation, testing and inspection work.
• Maintain electrical motors, lighting and other critical equipment.
• Perform routine checks on instrumentation equipment and sensors.
• Assist with commissioning new electrical and instrumentation equipment.
