Job summary

Totec in Glasgow is seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Technician to join our industrial gases production facility team. You will support daily operations, perform preventive maintenance, and carry out electrical installations and tests with a strong emphasis on safety and reliability.

The role requires hands-on problem solving in a heavy engineering environment, experience with instrumentation, and adherence to the 18th Edition for electrical installations.

Qualifications

• Qualified to maintain compliance with the 18th Edition for new electrical installations and significant alterations.
• Experience with problem solving in maintenance tasks.
• Hands-on, proactive approach with a willingness to learn new skills.
• Experience in maintenance in an industrial or process environment.

Responsibilities

• Support daily operations on cylinder filling equipment through preventive maintenance and remedial repair work.
• Carry out electrical installation, testing and inspections with focus on safety, reliability and continuity.
• Perform routine maintenance and testing of instrumentation such as pressure and temperature transmitters.
• Collaborate with a team to ensure smooth and efficient plant performance.

Electrical Maintenance Technician

Location: Glasgow

Salary: £39,700 per annum

Hours: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week (7am-3pm or 8am-4pm)

Duration: Permanent

An opportunity has become available for an Electrical Maintenance Supervisor at a major industrial gases production facility in Glasgow. The successful candidate will join a team of skilled engineers to support the operations team in maintaining the safe and reliable operation of the equipment on the Glasgow site.

This vacancy will ideally suit an experienced time served electrical technician with a general heavy engineering background who is looking for career progression.

Duties

• Support daily operations on our clients' cylinder filling equipment through hands-on preventive maintenance and remedial repair work
• Carry out electrical, installation, test and inspections with a focus on safety, reliability, and operational continuity
• Complete routine maintenance and testing of instrumentation equipment such as pressure and temperature transmitters
• Work closely with a supportive team to ensure smooth and efficient plant performance.

Requirements

• You will be qualified to maintain compliance with the 18th Edition for all new electrical installations, as well as for significant alterations or additions to existing systems
• You will have experience and knowledge in problem solving processes.
• You will bring a proactive, hands-on approach and are eager to learn new skills.
• You will have experience in maintenance, ideally in an industrial or process environment.
• You are safety-conscious and understand the importance of working to high standards.
• You enjoy working as part of a team and supporting others to achieve shared goals.
• You are open to developing your knowledge in instrumented systems and basic mechanical maintenance with guidance and training.
