Job description

Electrical and Instrument Technician Crawley

An established industrial site in Crawley is looking for an experienced Electrical and Instrument Technician to join their maintenance team. This is a hands–on role offering the opportunity to take ownership of critical equipment and support safe, efficient site operations.

Working Hours:
Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM 3:00 PM

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the reliability and safe functioning of all electrical and instrumentation equipment across the site

  • Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and control systems to support continuous operations

  • Carry out routine testing, calibration, and preventive maintenance on instrumentation to ensure optimal performance

  • Lead the installation and commissioning of new equipment, including wiring, mounting, programming, and testing

  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, safety checks, repairs, and installations

About You

  • Completed apprenticeship or equivalent qualification (e.g. City & Guilds, NVQ, BTEC, ONC) in electrical or instrumentation

  • COMPEX qualified for work in Hazardous Area Installations

  • Approximately two years experience in a maintenance role, ideally on a chemical or process plant

  • Strong problem–solving skills with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure

  • High awareness of Health and Safety practices and control of major accident hazards (training provided if required)
