Job summary

Trigon Recruitment Ltd is recruiting on behalf of HMP Ranby for an Electrical Installation Tutor to deliver Level 2 electrical installation qualifications to learners in a correctional environment. You will plan practical and theory sessions, adapt methods to individual needs, and foster a safe, inclusive learning atmosphere.

We welcome experienced electricians seeking a move into education and offer support to obtain teaching and assessing qualifications.

Qualifications

Level 2 qualification in Electrical Installation or equivalent.
Significant occupational experience within the electrical industry.
Strong practical knowledge of electrical installation, maintenance and industry regulations.
Experience training, mentoring, coaching or supporting others within a vocational environment.
Excellent communication and learner engagement skills.
Ability to motivate and inspire learners from diverse backgrounds.
Strong organisational and planning skills.

Responsibilities

Deliver engaging electrical installation training and qualifications up to Level 2.
Plan and deliver practical and theory-based sessions aligned to curriculum requirements.
Adapt teaching methods to suit individual learner needs and abilities.
Create a positive, inclusive and motivating learning environment.
Develop learners' practical electrical skills, technical knowledge and employability behaviours.
Promote safe working practices and current industry standards at all times.
Contribute to quality improvement and curriculum development activities.
Promote safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion.
Work collaboratively with prison staff, education teams and support services.
