Job summary

GMP Recruitment Agency Limited are partnered with a leading independent business in food and drink distribution; they seek an Electrical Installation & Test Engineer for the Tewkesbury site. You will install, inspect, test, and maintain electrical systems, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance across production equipment.

Applicants should have a strong electrical background, 18th Edition, and fault-finding skills, with experience in busy manufacturing environments.

Qualifications

• Relevant electrical engineering qualifications and experience.
• Experience with electrical installation, inspection and testing.
• Experience in FMCG/manufacturing environment.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Ability to work with minimum supervision.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out electrical installation, inspection and testing on the Tewkesbury site.
• Working on single and three-phase electrical installations.
• Completing planned preventative maintenance on production equipment and site systems.
• Carrying out regular inspections, testing and lubrication to keep machinery safe and reliable.
• Responding to electrical and mechanical breakdowns and carrying out reactive maintenance.
• Fault finding on electrical systems, automated machinery and production equipment.
• Repairing, testing and maintaining electrical and mechanical plant and machinery.
• Completing annual emergency lighting and electrical distribution testing.
• Ensuring electrical installations and equipment meet relevant regulations and testing requirements.
• Supporting electrical projects, improvements and installations around the site.
• Keeping maintenance, inspection and testing records accurate and up to date.
• Working closely with Engineering and Production teams to minimise downtime and keep the site running smoothly.
• Identifying potential issues before they become bigger problems and taking a proactive approach to maintenance.
• Always working safely and following the Company's Health & Safety requirements.
