Job summary

Hull College is seeking a Lecturer in Electrical Installation to join our team in Hull. You will teach practical electrical installation skills, shape curriculum with industry insight, and contribute to the learner experience across the College.

The role offers 35 hours per week, 52 weeks per year, with a salary between £26,772 and £40,052 per annum plus a £5,000 FTE Market Supplement. 42 days annual leave plus holidays and Christmas closure accompany a supportive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Subject specialism at least Level 3/4.
• Cert. Ed/PGCE or willingness to work towards.
• GCSE Maths and English at minimum level.
• Experience in an academic setting helping learners.
• Knowledge of the specialist electrical installation sector.
• Strong organisational and administrative skills.
• Ability to use own initiative to develop and improve the service within College policy.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality teaching and learning with engaging activities for students of all ages and abilities.
• Plan, prepare and update teaching documentation including schemes of work, lesson plans and online learning materials using Canvas.
• Coordinate and support course activities to achieve curriculum targets.
• Take responsibility for and facilitate academic tutorials for students.
• Involve in marketing, recruitment, interviewing, and attending open events and enrolment activities.
• Assess, monitor and record feedback to students following exam board guidelines.
• Lead, coordinate and support IV/IQA processes within the curriculum area.
• Work with staff to ensure consistency and best practice across the College.
• Contribute to quality assurance and curriculum design within the area.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the subject specialist area.
• Complete all mandatory training and ensure compliance with College policies.
