Job summary

Workshop Recruitment's client, a family-run business, seeks an experienced Electrical Installation & QC to join the Projects Team in Havant. You will deliver high-quality electrical installations, testing, and commissioning with a strong emphasis on safety and compliance.

The role requires NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation, BS 7671 18th Edition, ECS Gold Card and City & Guilds 2391, plus two years of testing experience and a full UK driving licence.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Install, terminate, test and commission electrical systems.
• Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and installation docs.
• Carry out cable routing, containment, panel wiring and terminations.
• Complete inspections, testing, fault diagnosis and repairs.
• Produce installation reports, commissioning records and compliance docs.
• Collaborate with project managers, clients and design engineers.
• Maintain high safety, QA and technical compliance standards.
• Provide technical guidance and basic training to customers and colleagues.
• Support Projects, Design, Service and Sales teams with system integration.

Electrical Installation & QC

Location: Havant, Hampshire

Salary: £47,500 - £52,500 per annum plus over time (total earnings circa 60k per annum)

Hours: Full Time

Our client is a family-run business that was established in 1999. They provide a complete end-to-end service, covering design, project management, installation, commissioning and ongoing technical support. As their business continues to grow, they are looking for an experienced Electrical Installation & QC to join their Projects Team and play a key role in delivering high-quality electrical installations.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, terminate, test and commission electrical.
• Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and technical installation documentation.
• Carry out cable routing, containment works, panel wiring and electrical terminations in line with relevant regulations and industry standards.
• Complete inspections, testing, fault diagnosis and repairs across electrical and control systems.
• Produce accurate installation reports, commissioning records, test results and compliance documentation.
• Work collaboratively with project managers, clients and design engineers to ensure projects are delivered safely and effectively.
• Maintain high standards of safety, quality assurance and technical compliance.
• Provide technical guidance and basic operational training to customers, colleagues and other engineers.
• Provide technical support to the Projects, Design, Service and Sales Teams, including electrical system integration and design validation.
• Work flexibly when required to meet project deadlines and operational demands.

Essential Qualifications & Experience

• NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent, ideally gained through an apprenticeship.
• BS 7671 - 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
• ECS Gold Card, or actively working towards obtaining one.
• Experience in electrical installation within a commercial or industrial or environment.
• An Inspection and Testing qualification, such as City & Guilds 2391.
• At least two years' experience in inspection and testing.
• A full UK driving licence, ideally with no endorsements.

Desirable Experience The following would be a significant advantage:

• Qualified Supervisor (QS) experience, supporting NICEIC compliance under the direction of the Electrical Supervisor.
• Experience supervising and supporting competent electrical engineers.
• Experience carrying out site surveys, statutory inspections and validation testing.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills, including electrical system repairs.
• Experience delivering operator training and providing technical support to customers.

Salary & Benefits
