Burton and South Derbyshire College is seeking an Electrical Installation Course Leader to join the Construction Academy. The role is full time (37 hours per week), with part-time consideration, based at The Stephen Burke Construction Academy in Swadlincote.

Salary up to £38,054 per annum, pro rata for fractional posts, plus progression support. Candidate would bring current industry experience and a passion for teaching, with opportunities to develop and deliver specialist courses and support

Qualifications

• You should be qualified to, or willing to work towards, Level 2 English and Maths. Evidence of qualifications is required.

Responsabilités

• Deliver high quality teaching within the Construction Academy and Green Skills Centre.
• Develop and deliver specialist industry related courses as needed.
• Engage learners from day one with an industry-aligned teaching approach.
• Additional development and delivery of specialist industry related courses may be required.

£4,500 'Golden Hello' staged over 3 years
Bursary up to £1,800 per year (qualification level dependent)

PLUS, sponsorship for completion of education and industry qualifications including but not limited to:

• Level 3-5 Education & Teaching
• Level 3 TAQA Assessor Qualification
• Level 4 TAQA Internal Quality Assurance Qualification
• Level 4 HNC in Construction /Civil Engineering

We’re seeking a skilled and motivated Electrical Installation Course Leader to join our growing Construction Academy.

You will bring current industry experience and a passion for your trade, helping to deliver high quality teaching within our purpose-built Construction Academy and Green Skills Centre. This is a fantastic opportunity to inspire the next generation of electricians while supporting the development of skills aligned to the future of sustainable construction.

As part of our enthusiastic and successful Construction team you will bring both industry experience and a fresh teaching style to the department, engaging our learners from day one. Additional development and delivery of specialist industry related courses may also be required.

Whether you’re already teaching or considering a move from industry into education, we welcome individuals with strong electrical expertise who are enthusiastic about developing others.

You will hold relevant qualifications in your subject area. A teaching qualification is desirable for this post or a willingness to work towards the qualifications stated above.
