About the role
As an electrical inspector, your responsibilities involve both office and site-based tasks, focusing on ensuring the quality and compliance of electrical installation works on Capital Works projects.
This includes inspecting and verifying the accuracy and quality of electrical installations, creating detailed reports, and liaising with clients and subcontractors. Additionally, the role requires organizing and coordinating the production of various reports, such as Lifecycle Condition Surveys, and completing and uploading Site Inspection Reports. Reviewing subcontractor Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS), and ensuring that electrical works comply with the electrical design, client specifications, the current edition of the BS7671 wiring regulations, and Mears internal policies and procedures are also key responsibilities. The role demands adherence to Mears electrical compliance standards and regulatory requirements, including the Health and Safety at Work Act and the Electricity at Work Regulations, ensuring that workers comply with these standards. Furthermore, the role involves assisting in broader service delivery across contracts where required, ensuring a comprehensive approach to maintaining high standards in electrical installations.
Key Criteria
All our roles require candidates to have the entitlement to work within the UK. Mears does not currently offer visa sponsorship.
To drive a Mears vehicle, you must be aged over 21, have held your licence for over 3 months, and have less than 9 points.
Candidates should be aware that all our roles are subject to relevant DBS/Security checks before employment begins.
