Electrical Hardware Engineer/PCB Designer | Space Engineering | Chelmsford
A well-established engineering organisation is seeking an Electrical Hardware Engineer/PCB Designer at team lead level to join their growing space technology division. This role is ideal for someone already leading a small team or an experienced engineer ready to step up.
You’ll be working on advanced imaging systems, developing and testing electronics that power high-performance sensors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop PCBs for high-speed space applications
- Create schematics, select components, and work with external layout engineers
- Define system architecture and interface documentation
- Prepare technical documents and lead design reviews
- Lead and carry out verification and testing of electronics
- Mentor junior engineers and ensure quality standards are upheld
What We’re Looking For:
- Strong experience in PCB design and high-speed digital circuitry
- Proficient with PCB CAD tools (ideally CADENCE or ALTIUM)
- Ability to present complex electrical designs clearly to technical and non-technical audiences
- Solid understanding of electronics fundamentals and electrical interface design
- Experience in high-reliability standards (space/aerospace/defence experience a plus)
