Job summary

Mane Contract Services is seeking an experienced electrical systems technician to build and assemble components for complex machinery to ISO standards.

You will work on panel building, wiring, and PLC/inverter-related tasks, reading schematics and fault-finding to maintain quality across the production line. Training and progression opportunities are available as part of a structured career path.

Qualifications

  • Experience building electrical systems for complex machinery.
  • Strong wiring and panel-building skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
  • Hands-on with control panels, MCBs, contactors, relays, inverter drives and PLCs.
  • Detail-oriented with strong fault-finding abilities.
  • Commitment to high-quality build standards.

Responsibilities

  • Build systems, sub-assemblies and parts to ISO standards.
  • Ensure BOM and customer specifications are met.
  • Identify and resolve build issues efficiently.
  • Report technical issues via FRACAS process.
  • Maintain technical competence through ongoing training.
  • Provide build sequence guidance and support to the team.
  • Mentor and train junior technicians.
  • Promote high standards of build cleanliness and health & safety (5S).
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and production performance.
  • Work on rotating shift schedule as directed by Team Leader.

Job description

About the Company:

A global manufacturing business with 4 manufacturing sites across the UK.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Build systems, sub-assemblies and piece parts for complex systems to required quality and ISO standards
  • Ensure BOM and customer specification requirements are met
  • Identify and resolve build issues efficiently
  • Report technical issues via the FRACAS process
  • Maintain technical competence through ongoing training
  • Provide build sequence guidance and support to the team
  • Mentor and train junior technicians
  • Promote high standards of build cleanliness, housekeeping, and health & safety (including supporting 5S initiatives)
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and production team performance
  • Work in accordance with the rotating shift schedule provided by the Team Leader
Essential Requirements:
  • Experience building electrical systems, ideally for complex/special-purpose machinery
  • Strong background in electrical wiring, including panel building
  • Able to read and interpret electrical schematics
  • Hands-on experience with:
  • Control panels
  • MCBs, contactors, relays
  • Inverter drives and PLCs
  • Cable crimping, soldering, and termination
  • Excellent attention to detail and fault-finding ability
  • Commitment to high-quality build standards
Desirable Qualifications:
  • Electrical Engineering Apprenticeship
  • 16th/17th Edition Electrical qualification
  • HNC/HND in Electrical/Electronic Engineering
  • City & Guilds in Electrical/Electronic Engineering
  • Other relevant electrical qualifications

  • Early: 06:00 - 14:00 (Mon-Thurs)
  • Afternoon: 14:00 - 22:00 (Mon-Thurs)
  • Friday: 06:00 - 11:00 and 11:00 - 16:00
