Job summary

Porterbrook in Derby, England, is seeking an Electrical & ETCS Systems Engineer with a strong track record in traction systems and rolling stock. The role focuses on leading technical investigations, coordinating external consultants and driving safety, quality and cost improvements across multiple fleets.

You will work with the Fleet Platform Strategy team and suppliers, oversee product development and obsolescence, and contribute to analytics and remote condition monitoring initiatives.

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of ETCS and electrical systems.
• Railway industry knowledge of rolling stock and players.
• Experience managing technical workstreams with safety, quality and cost controls.

Responsibilities

• Act as centre of expertise for electrical & ETCS systems on Traction & rolling-stock.
• Lead technical investigations and warranty support; coordinate at depots and sites.
• Manage internal workstreams and external consultants to deliver technical services.
• Oversee project workstreams with an electrical systems focus to meet safety and cost targets.
• Lead cross-industry forums and report progress to Engineering Services.
