Job summary

CDM Recruitment is seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator for a long-established building services contractor based in Durham. The role involves preparing accurate cost estimates for electrical M&E projects from tender stage through submission, with close collaboration with pre-construction and commercial teams.

You will review drawings, take-offs for labour, materials and plant, assess supplier and subcontractor quotes, and help ensure bids are commercially competitive and compliant.

Qualifications

• Experience as Electrical Estimator in building services or construction.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Experience with pricing software and estimating tools.
• Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work to tight deadlines in fast-paced tendering environment.
• HNC/HND/Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline (preferred).

We are recruiting on behalf of a long-established building services contractor with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality mechanical and electrical projects across the North East and UK. With a strong pipeline of secured work across commercial, industrial, education, and healthcare sectors, we are seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to join the commercial team based in Durham.

The Role

As Electrical Estimator, you will play a key role in preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for a wide range of electrical building services projects.

You will be involved from tender stage through to submission, working closely with pre-construction, commercial, and operational teams to ensure bids are fully compliant, commercially robust, and aligned with project requirements.
