Job summary

Octavius Infrastructure is offering a Year in Industry Placement for Electrical Engineering in London and surrounding locations. Over 10–12 months, you’ll gain hands-on experience across site and office environments, supporting electrical delivery on infrastructure projects.

We’ll mentor you through practical tasks, with opportunities to learn safety, quality, and project delivery, and potentially join our Graduate Scheme after graduation. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering with a placement year.
• Interested in infrastructure, construction, or engineering.
• Proactive, adaptable, and eager to apply academics.
• Confident communicator and team player.
• Willing to travel and stay away from home when required.
• Ideally hold a full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Support project teams with safe installation, testing, and commissioning.
• Assist with development and implementation of electrical methodologies.
• Gain practical experience through site and office activities.
• Work with Site Managers, Project Managers, Engineers.
• Build relationships with colleagues, clients, suppliers.
• Bring fresh ideas and proactive energy to projects.
• Develop understanding of safety, quality, and delivery.
• Participate in activities promoting careers in construction to local communities.
