Job summary

Samuel Frank is recruiting an experienced Electrical Engineering Manager for a major manufacturing site in the Deeside/Chester area. You will lead a 40-strong engineering team, prioritising resources and driving safety, reliability and continuous improvement.

The role emphasizes leadership and delivery, with mentoring, succession planning and engagement with key stakeholders across manufacturing, projects and technical teams.

Qualifications

• Strong electrical engineering background in manufacturing or heavy industry.
• Experience leading engineering, maintenance or reliability teams.
• Ability to influence stakeholders and manage budgets.
• Solid understanding of plant maintenance, safety and reliability.
• Degree or IEng/CEng registration is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead a 40-strong engineering team with supervision responsibilities.
• Promote a strong safety culture and regulatory compliance.
• Drive plant reliability, asset performance and maintenance effectiveness.
• Embed RCA methodologies (5 Why, Fishbone, Fault Tree Analysis).
• Collaborate with manufacturing, projects and technical stakeholders.
• Support shutdowns, capital investments, upgrades and commissioning.
• Manage departmental budgets and optimize maintenance spend.
• Mentor talent, plan succession, and supervise training programs.
• Encourage use of AI tools to boost productivity and problem solving.
