Job summary

Ashton Recruitment is recruiting for an Electrical Engineering Manager in Northern Ireland. Lead the electrical engineering team, oversee design to production, and drive improvements across projects to meet quality, safety and cost targets.

The role demands a degree in electrical engineering, 7+ years of leadership, and strong CAD/engineering delivery experience in heavy equipment or manufacturing environments.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• 7+ years' leadership experience within an engineering environment.
• Significant electrical design experience in heavy equipment, vehicle or manufacturing.
• Strong experience with 2D/3D CAD platforms (EPlan, SolidWorks Electrical, AutoCAD Electrical, DraftSight).
• Experience managing projects across full product development lifecycle.
• Knowledge of regulated environments and safety standards.

Salary: £60,000 - £70,000 per annum

The Role

As Electrical Engineering Manager, you will lead the electrical engineering team responsible for the design and development of ground support equipment. You will provide technical leadership across multiple projects, ensuring designs meet customer requirements, relevant standards and company quality expectations.

Duties will include:

• Leading and developing the electrical engineering team
• Managing engineering projects from concept and detailed design through to production release
• Allocating engineering resources across multiple projects
• Providing technical guidance and approving electrical design outputsEnsuring designs comply with relevant standards, regulations and customer specifications
• Leading design reviews and overseeing verification and validation activities
• Working closely with Manufacturing and Mechanical Engineering teams to resolve technical and production issues
• Supporting value engineering, component standardisation and design improvements
• Overseeing the Engineering Change Order process
• Driving improvements in engineering processes, workflows and design standards
• Developing and monitoring KPIs relating to delivery, quality, efficiency and cost
• Supporting recruitment, performance management and career development within the engineering team

Essential Criteria

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
• 7+ years' leadership experience within an engineering environment
• Significant electrical engineering design experience within a heavy equipment, vehicle, mobile machinery, manufacturing or OEM environment
• Strong experience with 2D/3D CAD platforms, such as EPlan, SolidWorks Electrical, AutoCAD Electrical, DraftSight or similar
• Experience managing projects across the full product development lifecycle
• Strong understanding of electrical integration, machine operation and control
• Knowledge of regulated engineering environments and relevant safety standards
• Experience implementing engineering process improvements or design standardisation
• Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills
