Job summary

MBDA UK Limited in Stevenage offers an Electrical Engineering Level 6 Degree Apprenticeship starting September 2027. The role combines university study at the University of Hertfordshire with hands-on work at MBDA, leading to a BEng (Hons) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering after four years.

The apprenticeship includes rotation across Electrical and Mechanical Engineering, with opportunities to work on missile systems electronics and production-ready projects.

Qualifications

• GCSEs: minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade 4, including English Language, Mathematics, and any Science or Technology subject
• One of the routes after GCSEs: Three A levels totalling 120 UCAS Tariff points (Maths + Tech/Engineering subject, no grade below B) OR Level 3 Extended Diploma in Engineering with DDM and Distinction in a Further Maths module

Responsibilities

• One day per week at University with some block teaching; rest of week onsite at MBDA in Electrical Engineering
• Rotational placements within Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering; some placements with external contractors
• Lab experience and programming for automated assembly line setups and New Product Introduction work

Education

A levels (Three A levels totalling 120 UCAS Tariff points, including Maths and a Technology or Engineering subject, with no individual grade below B)

BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Engineering (minimum grade DDM, including a distinction in a Further Maths module)
