Job summary

Emtec Utility Services, part of Emtec Group, is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our head office in Uddingston, near Glasgow, supporting design and delivery of electrical infrastructure projects.

You will take designs from concept to delivery, produce design packs, interact with DNOs/IDNOs, and collaborate with civil teams to ensure compliance, buildability, and client satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience on HV, utility or electrical infrastructure projects.
• Understanding of DNO/IDNO requirements and industry standards.
• Experience using AutoCAD for designs and as-fitted drawings.

Responsibilities

• Produce DNO and IDNO design packs and single line diagrams.
• Own the electrical design requirements for projects.
• Coordinate with Civil Engineering to meet electrical installation needs.
• Prepare specifications for primary plant including HV transformers and switchgear.
• Review supplier drawings and technical information for project compliance.
• Prepare electrical layouts and protection systems and single line diagrams.
• Carry out system studies: protection coordination, voltage regulation, load flow, fault level.
• Create design packs from design to construction handover.
• Work with clients, DNOs, IDNOs, suppliers and engineers during design process.
• Provide technical support to project team through design and delivery.
