Job summary

Emtec Utility Services is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to join our Uddingston HQ, with regular travel across the UK. You’ll contribute to the full project lifecycle, delivering practical civil solutions for renewables and infrastructure, while coordinating with consultants, contractors and internal teams.

The role focuses on design, calculations, drawings, and reports, with emphasis on safety, CDM compliance and constructability reviews.

Qualifications

• Experience designing civil solutions and producing technical calculations, drawings and reports.
• Understanding earthworks, drainage, roads, foundations and infrastructure design.
• Chartered Engineer status or working towards chartership.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the UK.

Responsibilities

• Design civil solutions for renewable energy and infrastructure projects.
• Produce calculations, drawings, specifications and technical reports.
• Develop earthworks, drainage, access road, foundation and retaining structure designs.
• Coordinate site surveys and supporting planning/regulatory approvals.
• Review consultant/subcontractor designs for compliance and buildability.
• Support construction teams with technical queries and design changes.
• Identify engineering risks and contribute to constructability reviews.
• Ensure work meets CDM, safety, environmental and industry standards.
