Electrical Engineer

Technip Energies UKOC is seeking an accomplished Electrical Engineer for major energy transition, olefins, refinery, and petrochemical projects located both in the UK and internationally.

Job Scope:

This key role will report to the Electrical Discipline Lead and will have responsibilities including:

  • Assisting in the preparation and review of engineering procedures, specifications, and standards.
  • Supporting the preparation of discipline basis of design, specifications, data sheets, requisitions, technical bid evaluations, and detailed discipline drawings.
  • Checking and reviewing vendor proposals, documentation, and drawings.
  • Supporting the Lead Electrical Engineer on projects and proposals.
  • Participating in vendor meetings.
  • Providing input to proposals, including man-hour and material cost estimates.
  • Contributing to construction sub-contracts, evaluating bids, and supervising contractors.
  • Supporting other electrical design activities such as:
    • Single Line Diagrams
    • Load Summaries
    • Substation Layout Drawings
    • Material Take Offs and Priced Bills of Materials
  • Traveling within the UK and internationally for meetings, equipment testing, and site technical support.

  • Experience with major electrical equipment such as transformers, switchgear, MCCs, UPS, diesel generators, cabling, and hazardous area equipment.
  • Basic understanding of hazardous area requirements, IEC 60079, and IP Part 15, including selection of electrical equipment for hazardous areas.
  • Basic knowledge of short circuit analysis and load flow studies.
  • Understanding of design requirements for equipment layouts, earthing, lighting, cabling, and electric heat tracing.
  • Knowledge of distribution network design for ethylene plants and similar industrial applications.
  • Computer literacy with a willingness to learn electrical design software.
  • Ability to interpret and work according to client and company standards and procedures.
  • Self-motivated with good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
