Job summary

Fortna is seeking an Electrical Engineer to design and document electrical and pneumatic controls for Fortna’s Material Handling Systems. This role leads the Electrical Engineering project team and delivers high-quality designs in line with Fortna’s Integrated Design Methodology.

You will contribute to DOO/FSD documentation, participate in design reviews, and support installations and commissioning across our MHS projects, while collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams and suppliers.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in electrical design of complex automated material handling systems.
• Strong knowledge of conveyors control: photoeyes, solenoids, VFDs, scanners.
• Experience with MS Project and MS Office.
• Ability to liaise with multiple suppliers and project teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead medium scope projects through detail design and implementation.
• Provide electrical input in design reviews to ensure requirements are clear.
• Develop DOO & FSD documentation input.
• Lead design reviews and ensure client acceptance.
• Create Electrical Engineering work plans and milestones.
• Support installation, commissioning, and site visits as needed.
• Prepare and present project status and ADRA items.
• Develop and maintain department standard documentation.
