Job summary

Andrews Recruitment Group are recruiting an Electrical Engineer to join an established industrial engineering company. The role involves hands-on electrical installations, testing and commissioning across heavy industrial environments with a company vehicle and permanent contract.

You will read electrical drawings, work with control equipment and panels, and maintain safety standards while supporting a team of engineers on site.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Electrical Installation qualification or time served apprenticeship is required.
• Level 3 Inspection and Testing of Electrical Installations (2391) required.
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671) required.
• AM2 Electrotechnical Assessment of Competence preferred but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out electrical installation work across industrial and process environments.
• Installing and connecting electrical equipment, containment, cabling and related systems.
• Working with electrical panels, control equipment and industrial machinery.
• Reading and interpreting electrical drawings, schematics and installation documentation.
• Supporting electrical testing, fault-finding and commissioning activities.
• Identifying and resolving electrical installation issues on site.
• Working with engineers, project teams and other trades to complete installations safely.
• Maintaining high standards of workmanship, electrical safety and site compliance.
• Supporting projects across a range of industrial customer sites.

£39,520–£43,680 per annum + Significant Overtime Opportunities

40 hours per week | Company Vehicle | Permanent

Substantial overtime is available for those who want it, with some existing engineers earning approximately £80,000 annually through additional hours.

Andrews Recruitment Group are one of the UK’s leading Aggregate and Building Material recruitment partners, and we are currently recruiting for an Electrical Engineer to join an established engineering company delivering electrical installation and engineering projects across industrial and process environments.

This is a hands‑on role for a qualified electrician who enjoys varied work, solving practical problems and seeing projects through to completion.

You’ll be working on industrial sites, supporting electrical installations, equipment connections, testing and commissioning activities as part of an experienced engineering team.

What You'll Be Doing

What We’re Looking For

Essential qualifications:

• Level 3 Electrical Installation qualification or time served apprenticeship
• Level 3 Inspection and Testing of Electrical Installations (2391)
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671).
• AM2 Electrotechnical Assessment of Competence.

Experience and skills:

• Practical experience carrying out electrical installations.
• Ability to read and understand electrical drawings.
• Good understanding of electrical safety and installation standards.
• Confident working independently and as part of a site‑based engineering team.
• A practical approach to fault‑finding and problem‑solving.
• Good communication skills and a professional approach when working on customer sites.

Experience in industrial engineering, manufacturing, utilities, aggregates, infrastructure or other heavy industrial environments would be particularly useful.
