Job summary

United Infrastructure is seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to join our Energy team, delivering safe, compliant electrical works across DNO, ICP and related energy infrastructure projects. The role covers LV/HV systems, substations, switchgear and cabling.

You will work with project managers, site teams and stakeholders to ensure delivery to technical standards, perform installation, testing, commissioning and fault-finding, and interpret drawings.

Qualifications

• Degree-qualified engineer with substantial electrical infrastructure experience.
• Experience delivering DNO/ICP projects.
• Strong knowledge of LV/HV distribution networks and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide electrical engineering support across Energy projects.
• Undertake and support installation, testing, commissioning and maintenance activities.
• Work with LV and HV systems, substations, switchgear, transformers and associated cabling.
• Interpret electrical drawings, schematics and technical specifications.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical faults.
• Ensure works comply with relevant DNO/ICP standards, G81 requirements and electrical safety procedures.
• Prepare and maintain test results, inspection records and technical documentation.
• Support energisation, commissioning and project handover activities.
• Work collaboratively with project managers, site supervisors, civil engineers, subcontractors, DNOs, ICPs and clients.
• Follow RAMS, permits, isolation procedures and United Infrastructure's HSQE requirements.
• Identify and challenge unsafe working practices and contribute to a strong safety culture.
