Job summary

United Infrastructure Ltd seeks an Electrical Engineer to join the Energy team. You will support safe delivery of electrical works across DNO, ICP and broader energy infrastructure, covering LV and HV systems, substations, switchgear, transformers and cabling.

In this hands-on role you will collaborate with project managers, site teams and external stakeholders to ensure projects meet technical standards, safety procedures and client requirements, while enabling energisation and handover of key

Qualifications

• Proven experience in electrical engineering within utility, energy or infrastructure projects.
• Experience working on DNO and/or ICP projects.
• Knowledge of LV/HV distribution networks and substations.
• Experience in electrical installation, testing, commissioning and fault-finding.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and specifications.
• Good understanding of electrical safety and compliance requirements.
• Relevant electrical authorisations/training, such as HV/LV or AP/SAP.
• ECS/CSCS certification or willingness to obtain it.
• A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites.

Responsibilities

• Provide electrical engineering support across Energy projects.
• Undertake and support installation, testing, commissioning and maintenance activities.
• Work with LV and HV systems, substations, switchgear, transformers and cabling.
• Interpret electrical drawings, schematics and technical specifications.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical faults.
• Ensure works comply with DNO/ICP standards, G81 requirements and safety procedures.
• Prepare and maintain test results, inspection records and technical documentation.
• Support energisation, commissioning and project handover activities.
• Collaborate with project managers, site supervisors, civil engineers, subcontractors, DNOs, ICPs and clients.
• Follow RAMS, permits, isolation procedures and HSQE requirements.
• Identify and challenge unsafe practices and foster safety culture.
