Job Description:

Equans is looking for an Electrical Engineer (Day Shifts) to join our team in Wakefield for our Pinderfield and Pontefract Hospital contract on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.

General Overview:
Working directly with Technical Supervisors, the post holder will ensure the safe and continuous operation of electrical engineering services and building plant as part of a maintenance team, including subcontractors, to deliver high standards for our clients.
Responsibilities include performing electrical maintenance of relevant assets, managing tasks from planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules or reactive work orders, fault diagnosis, sourcing parts, and following best practices at all times.
The role may also involve other tasks related to the wider M&E team.

Impact:
The department aims to maintain a healthcare environment through the upkeep of building fabric and services, including electrical and mechanical systems, plumbing, and piped medical gases.
Ensuring compliance with statutory safety requirements and maintaining records as per HTM and QA standards. Providing professional advice on building services maintenance and repair.

Complexity:
Work in accordance with HTMs and statutory requirements. Be certified as an Appointed Person for critical electrical systems, including Low Voltage.
Support policies and safe working procedures as a Competent Person (Electrical).
Undertake fault finding, preventative maintenance, emergency repairs, and ensure safety and quality standards are met.
Use relevant tools, equipment, and Building Management Systems (BMS).
Record maintenance activities and communicate effectively with departments and supervise other trades staff.

Qualifications or Required Experience:
Recognised Electrical/Engineering Apprenticeship, HNC, ONC, City & Guilds, or equivalent.
BS (18th Edition).
Ability to obtain Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) clearance.
