Job summary

WSP in the UK & Ireland is seeking a skilled Electrical Design Engineer to support Building Services design across major projects at sites in Brighton and beyond. You will contribute to design delivery, feasibility studies, and detailed specifications while working within a team of engineers and BIM specialists.

You will report to Principal/Associate Electrical Engineers and have opportunities for chartership progression, flexible hybrid working, and involvement in high-profile projects such as

Qualifications

• Working towards Chartership via Engineering Council accredited honours degree or relevant experience.
• Degree in Building Services Engineering or applicable discipline, or relevant equivalent experience.
• Working towards IET Engineer or Chartered Building Services Engineer.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of design projects for Building Services and for the overall project team, showing input that led to winning or delivering the commission.
• Work with initiative on all technical aspects of the discipline with minimal supervision.
• Interpret client needs and the project as a whole to meet delivery requirements.
• Collaborate within the Building Services Team (MEP) to provide design and technical advice to the project manager.
• Assist in completing detailed designs and feasibility studies for projects.
• Contribute to detailed and performance specifications for the discipline.
• Work across Brighton, Southampton, Heathrow, Basingstoke and Guildford sites; support projects accordingly.
• Report to Principal or Associate Electrical Engineers.
• Utilise graduate, assistant, senior and principal engineers and BIM/Sustainability specialists.
