Job summary

ETS Consulting Ltd is recruiting an Apprentice Trained Electrical Engineer for a heavy industry site in Stourbridge. The role involves reading ladder diagrams, PLCs, and fault finding on AC/DC systems, with 3‑phase power supplies and electrical control circuits.

The successful candidate will have City & Guilds 17th edition Wiring regulations (Level 3) and IPAF MEWPs, with flexibility for overtime and weekend shifts.

Qualifications

• Apprentice trained with relevant certification.
• Experience in heavy industry, ideally foundry.
• Understanding of PPM systems.

Responsibilities

• Read LADDER diagrams and PLCs, and diagnose faults in AC/DC systems.
• Operate 3-phase power supplies and electrical control circuits in a busy foundry environment.
• Maintain safe, efficient operation and contribute to continuous improvement.

The Role

Apprentice trained with relevant certification and qualifications. Minimum; City & Guilds 17th edition Wiring regulations (Level 3 Electrical Installations) trained, Able to perform electrical control circuits and 3 phase power supplies, and fault finding on AC/DC systems. Able to read LADDER diagrams and PLC literate and circuit diagrams. IPAF (Powered Access Federation) MEWPs (mobile elevating work platforms)

Experience in foundry processes and equipment is preferred. Determined, organised and disciplined. As a priority, working safely with tools and equipment with an ongoing commitment to continuous improvement. Working in a busy production plant. The role requires a high level of flexibility (overtime and weekends) and commitment to work. Excellent communication skills, positive attitude, and ability to work on own initiative is imperative. To ensure everyone is working in a safe environment, to ensure foundry plant and ancillary equipment is always operated efficiently minimising all types of waste. Undertake fault diagnosis and repair in a heavy engineering foundry environment
