Job description

Electrical Engineer required for our client. The Electrical Engineer will manage the electrical aspects of construction projects, focusing on renewable energy and embedded generation. The role involves providing technical support, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and helping to deliver projects on time and within budget.

The Electrical Engineer will have a strong electrical background and ideally experience within the renewable or embedded generation sector. It would be beneficial for the candidate to have a background in DNO, IDNO or ICP as well.

Electrical Engineer Remuneration
  • £60,000 - £65,000

Responsibilities
  • Oversee electrical components from design to completion, including testing and commissioning.
  • Provide technical guidance to the Construction Supervisor and Project Manager.
  • Lead technical meetings with design teams, DNO, and clients.
  • Ensure projects comply with DNO G81, BS standards, and client-specific requirements.
  • Assist with labour/resource planning and provide technical support during tendering.
  • Maintain effective communication with stakeholders, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Review contracts, specifications, and project drawings for compliance.
  • Ensure projects adhere to planning conditions and health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Support the Quantity Surveyor with tendering and contract changes.
  • Oversee commissioning and QA processes to ensure high standards.
Qualifications & Skills

Essential:

  • HND/degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years in electrical construction, including LV/HV cable laying and distribution systems up to 132kV.
  • Experience with DNO, IDNO, ICP, and renewable energy projects.
  • AP/SAP authorizations and strong knowledge of relevant electrical standards.
  • Proficient in MS Office and MS Project.

Desirable:

  • Experience with NEC contracts.
  • SAP LV & HV qualification.
  • IOSH Managing Safely certification.
