Techniche Global Ltd is seeking an Intermediate Electrical Design Engineer to join their Building Services MEP team in Manchester. Hybrid work, typically 3 days in the studio, with a £45k salary and excellent benefits.

The role covers electrical design, calculations, and coordination across residential, education, commercial and net-zero projects, collaborating with architects and engineers to deliver robust, compliant designs.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as an Electrical Engineer within Building Services / MEP.
• Good understanding of electrical building services design and engineering principles.
• Experience designing systems such as power distribution, lighting, fire alarms and communications.
• Ability to produce and interpret technical calculations, drawings and engineering documentation.
• Familiarity with industry-standard electrical design and calculation software.
• Understanding of applicable electrical and building regulations and design standards.
• Strong attention to technical detail with the ability to produce accurate, coordinated designs.
• Collaborative approach and confidence working within multidisciplinary design teams.
• Proactive and organised, with a genuine interest in developing your electrical engineering capability.

Responsabilités

• Electrical Building Services Design - Providing electrical engineering design, analysis, calculations and drawing input across a variety of building projects.
• Electrical Systems - Supporting the design and analysis of power distribution, lighting, fire alarm and communication systems in accordance with relevant standards.
• Technical Calculations - Using industry-standard analysis and calculation software to support technically robust designs.
• Feasibility & Risk - Conducting feasibility studies, cost estimates and risk assessments for proposed engineering solutions.
• Multidisciplinary Coordination - Working closely with architects, structural engineers, contractors and other engineering disciplines to develop fully coordinated designs.
• Technical Documentation - Preparing high-quality reports, technical data, drawings and tender documentation.
• Design Reviews - Participating in internal design reviews, self-checking your own work and supporting checks of others' work where appropriate.
• Compliance - Ensuring designs comply with applicable codes, regulations, CDM Regulations 2015 and internal quality management requirements.
• Project Delivery - Managing your own project timelines, budgets and resources while maintaining clear communication with colleagues and clients.

We are supporting an award-winning engineering consultancy in their search for an Intermediate Electrical Design Engineer to join their growing Building Services MEP team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an Electrical Engineer with experience in Building Services / MEP design to work across a varied portfolio of UK projects. These include residential, education, commercial development, leisure, regeneration and net-zero/low-carbon schemes, working alongside multidisciplinary engineering and design teams.

The Role

What We're Looking For
