Job summary

Suir Engineering Ltd. in Glasgow is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support a DC project. You will develop and review schematics, ensure safety compliance, and coordinate with clients and suppliers on HV/LV systems, protection and commissioning documentation.

The role requires a third level Electrical Engineering degree and 3+ years of experience, with strong communication and teamwork skills. An opportunity to work on international projects across Europe is highlighted.

Responsibilities

• Development and review of schematic drawings and single line diagrams for HV, LV, generator, UPS and busbar distribution systems.
• Complying with project safety requirements including CDM 2015 and permit-to-work procedures.
• Detailed design reviews of HV/LV equipment, protection systems and generator controls.
• Specification, selection and procurement of equipment including transformers, switchgear, generators and UPS.
• Preparation and interpretation of technical specifications and enquiry documentation.
• Assist with preparation of technical and contract documentation for submittals and test dossiers.
• Liaise with client, Principal Contractor, design consultants and suppliers to resolve technical queries and RFIs.

We have an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Engineer to join Suir Engineering Ltd. This position will be supporting a DC Project in Glasgow

What You Will Be Doing

• Development and review of schematic drawings and single line diagrams for HV, LV, generator, UPS and busbar distribution systems, ensuring concurrent maintainability to Tier III design intent
• Complying with specific project safety requirements, including CDM 2015, the Principal Contractor's Construction Phase Plan, permit-to-work, LOTO and energisation procedures (no live working)
• Detailed design reviews covering all aspects of High & Low voltage equipment and control and protection systems, including generator controls, EPMS, earthing, lightning protection and protection discrimination studies
• Specification, selection, and procurement of the range of equipment, including coordination of client-supplied (OFCI) plant such as transformers, switchgear, generators and UPS
• Preparation and interpretation of technical specifications and enquiry documentation for subcontract and Contractor Design Portion packages
• Assist with the preparation of technical and contract documentation for issue, including design submittals, commissioning dossiers, O&M manuals, record drawings and test certificates
• Liaise with the client, Principal Contractor, design consultants and suppliers to resolve technical queries and RFIs
