Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a fast-paced manufacturing/production environment.
  • Proficient in diagnosing PLC/HMI systems, with ladder logic exposure.
  • Experience with 3-phase motors and variable frequency drives.
  • 18th Edition wiring regulations advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Identify faults and carry out repairs following breakdowns.
  • Ensure all PPM schedules are completed.
  • Install, maintain, and repair 3-phase motors, PLCs, VFDs, and other electrical systems.
  • Complete maintenance paperwork on time and to required standards.
  • Work alongside the production team to understand maintenance requirements.

Skills

Previous experience in a similar role within a fast-paced manufacturing/production environment
Proficient in diagnosing PLC/HMI systems, with some experience of ladder logic
Proficient in fault-finding on 3-phase and single-phase systems
Ability to work alone or as part of a team
18th Edition

Education

Mechanical or Electrical City & Guilds Level 3 or equivalent

Location: Colchester. Salary: Competitive DOE. Schedule: Monday-Friday days, 36 hours per week.

Based near Colchester, you will be joining a well-known precision manufacturing company that holds a large market share in their industry across the UK, Europe and the USA.

Due to continuous growth, they are looking for an experienced maintenance/electrical engineer with strong electrical skills to join them on their day shift at their factory site. The role will involve working in a small maintenance team carrying out PPMs, reactive maintenance and preventative maintenance on their production lines.

Job responsibilities
  • Identify faults, and carry out repairs following breakdowns, PPMs or site work.
  • Ensure all PPM schedules are completed.
  • Install, maintain, and repair 3-phase motors, PLCs, VFDs, and other electrical systems.
  • Complete maintenance paperwork on time and to required standards.
  • Work alongside the production team to understand maintenance requirements in line with production needs.
