Job description

The Team

Cundall's Building Services team's mission is to play a key role in making buildings more energy efficient, sustainable and cost effective to operate. We pride ourselves on our exemplary track record of designing innovative and sustainable mechanical and electrical solutions that minimise the use of natural resources. Becoming part of our new Bristol office gives you the opportunity to play a key role in our growing team in the Region and contribute to defining our office culture.

Project opportunities will be across a variety of sectors in the South West and London. As a company, we work closely with our colleagues, including specialisms in other offices, and collaborate to ensure we provide the right experience and expertise on projects while offering the right training and mentoring to our staff.

The Building Services team is a source of world-leading expertise and offers a proactive and collaborative approach to skill development and professional experience. We offer mechanical, electrical, public health, and specialist services.

The Role

This is an opportunity for an experienced and client-focused electrical building services engineer to join the team at our Bristol office. This key role will work alongside directors and partners, ensuring successful delivery while working with clients, architects, and other stakeholders for exciting building projects in the UK and worldwide.

Predominantly working with some of the largest and most innovative corporate entities across the UK and EMEA regions, you will deliver cutting-edge workplaces that allow these companies' employees to do their best work and change the world. The successful candidate will take a key role in delivering these projects while managing Cundall's specialist engineers. You will work closely with colleagues of various disciplines, including external local engineering partners, to manage the delivery of technically excellent, profitable projects.

You will develop new and nurture existing outstanding client relationships that maximise satisfaction and ensure repeat business, using your wealth of expertise and leadership skills to manage, motivate, and inspire.

The Skills

Educated to degree level in Electrical / Building Services Engineering, and with a minimum of two years of experience in an Electrical Engineering role within a building services context (electrical distribution and power generation, lighting design, security systems, etc.), you have an extensive portfolio of experience demonstrating your familiarity with high-quality engineering solutions and a client-focused approach.

In your most recent position, you have consistently demonstrated your ability to manage multiple projects to exceed client expectations. Ideally, you will possess sound knowledge of Revit and have proven experience in creative, sustainable, and intuitive design.

Given the collaborative and client-focused nature of this role, excellent communication and time management skills are essential.

You will have the opportunity to grow within this role both technically and managerially. You will assist with fee proposals and business development in the schools and education sector and provide local expertise. You will attend our internal national and international schools sector meetings, sharing best practices and opportunities. You will be supported by mechanical and electrical engineers as the design progresses and enjoy developing solutions in collaboration with other members of the professional team in a consultative role.

You will be supported in this role with engineers providing design services and will work alongside directors/partners who will actively support you as we expand our London, south of England, and international offerings. This is an opportunity to develop project management and project financial skills to complement your engineering skills. This role should be viewed as a stepping stone to the next level and to be part of the leadership in this sector in the south.

We know that to be the best at what we do, we need a diverse workforce underpinned by an inclusive culture. Creating environments where everyone can find joy doing their best work is also great for everyone. That’s why we positively welcome applications from people of all backgrounds and identities, and encourage, support, and celebrate the diverse voices of our people.
