Sustainable Infrastructure in Blyth, United Kingdom, is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer for a major data centre project on-site. You will support delivery, coordination of electrical works, and ensure safety, programme and quality standards are met.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or related.
  • Minimum 3+ years' experience in electrical construction.
  • Experience with power distribution, lighting and related services.
  • Strong understanding of drawings, specs and site practices.
  • Experience with coordinating subcontractors and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced construction environments.
  • Experience in data centres or mission-critical projects is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate delivery of electrical works across the project lifecycle.
  • Review electrical drawings, specs and submittals.
  • Support QA/QC processes and electrical standards.
  • Coordinate daily activities with subcontractors and team.
  • Monitor progress and report status to senior engineers.
  • Maintain electrical documentation and safety records.
  • Attend site meetings and planning reviews.
  • Raise RFIs and technical queries with the design team.
  • Assist with inspections, testing and verification.
  • Support commercial management by monitoring variations.
  • Identify and help resolve technical and coordination issues.
  • Close-out electrical snagging and defects.
  • Ensure works meet project specs, programme and safety.

Electrical Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join the project team on a major data centre development in Blyth, UK.

You will support the delivery and coordination of electrical works on site, ensuring activities are completed safely, on programme and in accordance with project specifications, drawings and quality standards.

This is a hands‑on site‑based role, working closely with subcontractors, supervisors, engineers, designers and the wider project team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the coordination and delivery of electrical works throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Review and interpret electrical drawings, specifications and technical submittals.
  • Support site QA/QC processes and ensure electrical works meet the required standards.
  • Coordinate daily electrical activities with subcontractors, supervisors and the wider project team.
  • Monitor site progress and report programme status to senior engineers and management.
  • Maintain and manage electrical documentation, technical submittals and safety records.
  • Attend site meetings, engineering reviews and planning meetings.
  • Liaise with the design team to raise, track and resolve RFIs and technical queries.
  • Assist with installation inspections, testing and verification of electrical systems.
  • Support commercial management by monitoring variations and assisting with progress claims.
  • Identify and help resolve technical, design and coordination issues.
  • Assist with the management and close‑out of electrical snagging and defects.
  • Ensure all works are delivered in accordance with project specifications, programme and safety requirements.
Requirements
  • * Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline.
  • * Minimum 3+ years' experience within the electrical construction sector.
  • * Experience with electrical systems including power distribution, lighting and associated services.
  • * Good understanding of construction drawings, specifications and site practices.
  • * Strong technical knowledge of electrical installation methodologies.
  • * Good organisational, communication and coordination skills.
  • * Experience working with electrical subcontractors and multidisciplinary project teams.
  • * Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced construction environment.
  • * Experience within data centres, industrial or mission‑critical projects is highly desirable.
