Electrical Engineer Requirements

• Educated to RQF level 3 (e.g., Full City & Guilds level 3) in a practical Electrical discipline as a minimum.
• A minimum of 5 years practical experience post-qualification, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role within an industrial manufacturing environment.
• Ideally, candidates will have CompEx (Ex01-04) & (Ex05-06) qualifications, but these can be acquired after employment.
• A flexible attitude to manage multiple complex jobs simultaneously, adapting to operational priority changes.

Electrical Engineer Responsibilities

• Manage maintenance operations, including the provision, operation, and development of all maintenance and preventative systems, including inspections.
• Design, specify, and oversee installation of electrical equipment for new capital projects, maintenance, and upgrades, controlling expenditure within budgets.
• Supervise the electrical team (four personnel) and electrical contractors.
• Have a good understanding of ATEX, area classification, and BS60079, acting as a competent person in these areas.
• Serve as the Company Technical Authority on electrical matters.
• Liaise with internal teams and external contacts such as suppliers, contractors, and agencies like HSE & EA.
• Promote a safety culture, ensuring all operations meet safety, legal, and statutory requirements.
• Manage the development and training of electrical personnel.
