Job description

Electrical Engineer

Location: Alloa, Scotland

Closing Date: 18/05/2025

Salary: £54,227.89 including shift allowance + benefits (pension, shares scheme, bonus)

The Electrical Engineer will work on a rotating 3-shift pattern: early, back, and night shifts.

Join our Supply Chain and Manufacturing team, which is committed to delivering our brands globally through complex logistics, manufacturing, and technical collaboration across over 100 sites in more than 30 countries. We aim to support environmental sustainability and community development as part of our 'Society 2030: Spirit of Progress' goals.

About the role

As an Electrical Engineer at Blackgrange, your primary focus will be routine maintenance and ensuring effective repair operations.

Key responsibilities include:
  1. Performing maintenance tasks according to the asset care plan and updating SAP accordingly.
  2. Participating in Tier 1 and Short Interval Control meetings, contributing and following up on actions.
  3. Supporting operators to enhance asset care and RCPS capabilities.
  4. Maintaining a safe and organized workplace, complying with Safety and 5S MMS standards.
  5. Following health, safety, environmental, and food safety standards and legislative procedures.
  6. Using root cause analysis (5 why's) to proactively resolve issues with operators and leaders.
  7. Coaching operators in autonomous maintenance, machine setup, and equipment capability growth.
  8. Attending asset care, CAPEX, and shutdown review meetings, providing technical insights.
  9. Supporting capital projects, including installation, commissioning, and testing, and contributing to early equipment management.
Qualifications and skills

We seek candidates with a continuous improvement mindset, problem-solving skills, and knowledge of 3-phase electrical systems, with the ability to interpret technical drawings.

Essential skills include:

  1. Fault diagnosis in PLC systems.
  2. Knowledge of machinery safety systems (light curtains, key enter systems).
  3. Understanding of automation and conveyor systems.
  4. Knowledge of pneumatics and control instrumentation.
  5. 18th Edition qualification.

Desirable qualifications include:

  1. CompEX 01-06 qualification.
