Job summary

Arup, a leading engineering consultancy, is looking for an Energy Consultant (Electrical) to join our team in Manchester or Sheffield. The role focuses on developing electrical infrastructure and power systems solutions, with emphasis on HV grid connections, network integration, and electrification of energy systems for low‑carbon projects.

You will support feasibility studies, early‑stage design, and technical analysis, producing reports, calculations and schematics with senior guidance, while

Qualifications

• MEng in Electrical Engineering, power systems preferred.
• Working towards Chartership and membership of a professional body (e.g. IET).
• Strong grounding in electrical engineering principles: power systems and distribution networks.

Responsibilities

• Support project teams with electrical system analysis and modelling.
• Prepare technical outputs: reports, calculations, schematics.
• Contribute to decarbonisation studies for energy systems.
• Advise clients on power system requirements for low-carbon projects.
