About the role
To provide engineering design solutions and through-life engineering support to the JFD product range. Workload can vary from new product design to meet client or internal specifications to supporting existing clients in upgrading or changing equipment in the field.
Your key responsibilities will also include:
- Provide engineering design input to new products.
- Support the existing product range.
- Assess technical queries and provide engineering solutions for a wide product portfolio.
- Liaise with internal departments such as sales, procurement, and production.
- Sourcing components and materials as required.
- Create part numbers and bill of materials.
- Develop engineering documentation including specifications, proposals, assembly instructions, test procedures, and reports.
- Check detailed manufacturing drawings and documentation.
- Ensure engineering solutions are delivered on time and within budget.
- Adhere to engineering and company standards and processes.
- Conduct site visits to other JFD offices and client assets as needed.
- Act as technical checker of drawings and documentation supporting the mechanical engineer role.

What do you need?
Essential:
- An Electronics/Electrical degree or equivalent industry experience.
- Skilled in generating design calculations.
- Knowledge of design standards.
- Good knowledge of electrical systems design for EMC compliance.
- Experience in product design, especially DC systems.
- Experience with product lifecycle management systems.
This role requires the ability to gain UK Security Clearance (SC). You must have the right to live and work in the UK and reside within a commutable distance to Inchinnan, Glasgow.
