Job summary

Axis CLC Group seeks an experienced Electrical Desktop Supervisor to QA electrical works for Responsive Repairs and Voids across the social housing portfolio. The role involves reviewing certifications, test results, and evidence, challenging workmanship, and ensuring coding accuracy to uphold safety and quality standards.

You will work within the Social Housing team, supervising both direct labour electricians and subcontractors, reporting to the Electrical Services manager.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced and technically competent Electrical Desktop Supervisor to join our Social Housing team, supporting our Responsive Repairs and Voids contracts.

The Role

This is predominantly a desktop-based quality assurance role, responsible for checking electrical works completed by both directly employed electricians and electrical subcontractors.

You will review completed jobs to ensure the work is correct, compliant, properly evidenced and accurately coded before final closure. This will include electrical certification, test results, photographs, job notes and Schedule of Rates (SOR) coding.

This is more than an administrative check. You will use your electrical knowledge and experience to challenge poor workmanship, incomplete certification, weak evidence, incorrect coding and repeat failures, ensuring the same quality standards are applied across our entire electrical workforce.

Responsibilities

• Carry out desktop quality checks on electrical works across Responsive Repairs and Voids.
• Check completed works from direct labour electricians and electrical subcontractors to the same standard.
• Review electrical certificates, test results, photographs, job notes and completion evidence.
• Ensure works completed match the original repair requirement and recorded diagnosis.
• Review and validate electrical SOR coding and supporting evidence.
• Identify incorrect, excessive or unsupported coding before commercial validation.
• Identify incomplete works, poor workmanship, certification issues and inadequate evidence.
• Return failed quality checks for correction and monitor them through to resolution.
• Review repeat repairs and identify recurring faults or quality concerns.
• Identify trends across individual electricians, subcontractors and types of work.
• Escalate significant electrical safety, compliance or quality concerns.
• Provide clear technical feedback to electricians, subcontractors and operational teams.
• Support investigations into complaints, repeat failures and quality issues.
• Carry out targeted site inspections where desktop checks identify concerns requiring further investigation.
• Maintain accurate records of checks, failures and corrective actions.
• Support management with quality and performance reporting.
• Identify training or competency concerns through quality-checking trends.
• Drive consistent standards, quality and value for money across the electrical service.

About You

• Strong electrical background with experience in domestic electrical installations.
• Experience within social housing Responsive Repairs, Voids or a similar maintenance environment.
• Recognised electrical qualifications appropriate to the role.
• Good knowledge of electrical inspection, testing and certification.
• Ability to critically review electrical certificates, test results and photographic evidence.
• Strong understanding of electrical fault finding and repair works.
• Ability to identify poor workmanship, incomplete works and compliance concerns.
• Experience supervising, inspecting or quality-checking electrical works.
• Good understanding of Schedule of Rates and measured-term maintenance contracts.
• Strong attention to detail and confidence to challenge work that does not meet the required standard.
• Good organisational and communication skills.
• Strong IT skills including repairs management systems and Microsoft Office.
• Full UK driving licence.

Desirable

• Previous Electrical Supervisor, Qualified Supervisor or electrical quality assurance experience.
• Detailed knowledge of NHF/M3NHF Schedule of Rates.
• Experience working with both direct labour and electrical subcontractors.
• Experience using Dynamics 365 or similar repairs management software.
• Experience using Power BI or similar reporting tools.Experience analysing quality failures and performance trends.
