Job summary

RED Engineering Design seeks an Associate Electrical Design Engineer to be based in London or Bicester. You will lead major projects, coordinate electrical and mechanical services, and drive designs from concept through to delivery.

The role combines technical leadership with client-facing responsibilities and rigorous adherence to standards. You will oversee feasibility studies, fee bids and project reporting, ensuring robust, compliant designs and effective stakeholder collaboration within a

Qualifications

BSc/BEng in appropriate engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
Chartered Eng status and professional recognition preferred.
Experience in specification design for a range of building types.
Knowledge of health and safety issues and legislation.
Contract and business law awareness.
Experience with invoicing or credit control processes.
Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
Leadership, mentoring and presentation skills.
Experience in consulting or construction environments is advantageous.
Familiarity with UK standards and codes; international project exposure is a plus.

Responsibilities

Lead major projects with team management for M&E installations.
Prepare feasibility studies, fee bids and project planning.
Review project status and adjust schedules as required; report to management and clients.
Specify controls, instruments and operating systems for building services.
Survey and report on electrical/ mechanical installations.
Ensure designs meet specifications, standards and customer requirements.
Represent the company at technical meetings with clients and contractors.
Ensure calculations and drawings comply with industry and legal standards.
Provide day-to-day project progress liaison with clients.
Monitor risk and performance through internal controls.
