Job summary

Carrington West is seeking a Senior / Principal Civil Design Engineer for major UK water and wastewater treatment schemes. The role supports feasibility through to detailed design, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams across UK offices and could involve occasional travel to a site or office.

The ideal candidate has a Civil Engineering degree and proven experience delivering AMP-related water sector projects using 3D design tools, with a track record of leading technical work packages.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.

• Experience in UK Water or Wastewater sector, AMP projects preferred.
• Proficiency with 3D design tools and related software.

Responsibilities

Senior / Principal Civil Design Engineer

Location: Positions UK Wide, Hybrid to Local Office (up to 4 days from home)

Rate: Based on Experience

Duration: 12 Months+/Ongoing

Sector: Water & Wastewater Treatment - Non-Infrastructure

Are you a Senior / Principal Civil Engineer looking for a new challenge on major UK Water and Wastewater treatment schemes?

You will be working with a major Design & Build contractor delivering clean and wastewater projects across a range of frameworks nationwide. With projects and design teams based throughout the UK, they are looking to recruit additional support across their regional offices.

If you are not based close to one of their offices, they can consider a more flexible arrangement for the right candidate, with travel to an office or site potentially required just once a fortnight.

As a Senior / Principal Civil Engineer, you will be supporting Water and Wastewater treatment projects from feasibility through to detailed and final design. You will be working closely with multidisciplinary teams, reviewing technical designs and helping ensure projects are practical, compliant and ready for successful delivery.

You will be:

• Delivering feasibility, outline, detailed and final design work.
• Reviewing designs, technical specifications and submissions.
• Taking technical responsibility for smaller projects and work packages.
• Supporting key design reviews for Water Authority AMP projects.
• Working on Water treatment works, Wastewater treatment works and pumping stations.
• Providing technical guidance to engineering teams and project stakeholders.

To be considered, you will need:

• A Civil Engineering degree or equivalent qualification.
• Experience delivering projects from inception through to detailed design.
• Previous UK Water or Wastewater sector experience.
• Experience working on AMP-related projects for a UK Water Authority.
• Experience using 3D design tools and relevant engineering software.
• The ability to lead technical work packages and provide confident design input.
